National Retail Design Coordinator & Fashion Category Leasing Manager

Brian Gorman has been working with Westfield in a design retail role for the last twenty-one years.

Brian was born and grew up in New York City. After graduating from The High School of Art and Design Brian went onto study Architecture and considers himself privileged to have been surrounded by some of today’s leading architects.

Brian sights his extensive involvement with the development of the new Westfield Sydney as the most rewarding and inspiring experience of his career.

Brian describes his work as collaborative, innovative and experiential.

At Higher Learning Brian will teach the audience the ins and outs of successful retail and the importance of innovative retail design.

Alicia Kemp has been the Fashion Category Leasing Manager for Westfield for the last four years and has been an integral part of the success of both Bondi Junction and the new Westfield Sydney, the two projects that are credited with changing the face of retail in Australia.

Alicia has always been a passionate and tenacious individual and sights both as an essential part of her success.  Alicia remembers being seven and wanting to get into the county Gym squad, whilst her legs were strong her abs weren’t, so she did sit ups on a hard floor in the school gym every day until she got sore’s on her back, needless to say she got into the gym squad.

It is these qualities that Alicia applies to her job today and aims to instill in her team.

Alicia is inspired by the idea of bringing inspiration to the masses through fashion and store design combined. Her job calls on her to think outside the box everyday.

This is the knowledge she is set to share at Higher Learning, thinking outside the box to inspire through design, retail and branding.
